"Dig your own hole", c'est le titre d'un album des frères chimiques, non ? Et le PT Anderson, il est bien ? Aime vraiment beaucoup "Punch Drunk love" mais c'est peut-être pour des raisons extra-cinématographiques (mon ou notre date-movie) et en plus, j'avais l'impression que c'était une exception dans sa filmo. Donc j'ai un peu peur pour le prochain.

J'ai à peu près autant détesté Magnolia que Punch Drunk Love, sans compter que je n'aime pas du tout l'actrice Emily Watson, très ennuyeuse à regarder ces derniers temps. PT Anderson : du cinéma lourd, surfait, formaliste à outrance. C'est dire ma surprise devant ce There will be Blood. Day Lewis en fait des caisses mais il excelle dans le surjeu. Il n'y a qu'à le voir dans Gangs of New York pour s'en convaincre.
Il y a 3 segments dans There Will be Blood et le dernier est malheureusement plus faible car on quitte le territoire pour une trop longue scène en huis clos. Bon, sinon Anderson n'y va pas avec le dos de la cuillère question travelling ! Mais ça passe bien. Cette amplitude se prête bien au territoire.
Mais attention, un Anderson peut en cacher un autre : Wes (Anderson) confirme avec "A Bord du Darjeeling Limited" tout son talent. C'est là un autre grand film de 2008 (sortie en mars). Je te le recommande.

"Punch Drunk Love" tient quand même beaucoup grâce à Adam Sandler et à son jeu rentré alors que ça se sent qu'il a envie d'en faire des tonnes. J'aime bien sentir ce tiraillement entre le désir de démonstration d'un acteur et ce que lui impose son metteur en scène. En fait, je crois que j'aime bien aussi ce film par son ton assez inattendu, à la fois souriant et désenchanté, proche de certains poèmes de Brautigan.

Sinon, je suis déjà fan de Wes Anderson alors que pourtant a priori, il y aurait tout pour m'agacer dans ce cinéma: la volonté de faire décalé à tout prix, à chaque seconde, les acteurs grimés, la succession de vignettes, la démonstration de "petit génie"... Je me suis promis d'écrire là-dessus au moment de la sortie de "Darjeeling" que je croyais être en janvier. Bon. Faudra attendre deux mois de plus.

Wes Anderson reste fidèle à ses vignettes dans "Darjeeling". Le train, comme le sous-marin dans La Vie aquatique, devient un lieu-monde. J'adore son univers, avec la famille dysfonctionnelle en filigrane. Je n'en dis pas plus. Le film sort le 19 mars 2008. Va falloir attendre en effet.
Sur "Punch Drunk", y'a une séquence qui m'a fait marrer. Sandler essaie de dominer sa colère mais c'est plus fort que lui, il saccage tout à un moment donné. Mon souvenir est un peu vague ceci dit...

P.T.Anderson deviendrait-il donc enfin un vrai cinéaste ? ça serait pour moi une grande surprise, mais effectivement, j'y crois, surtout après la transformation de Fincher avec "Zodiac" film d'une richesse incroyable parce que construit autour du vide. D'ailleurs je sens à l'avance que The Curious Case of Benjamin Button va être encore un beau choc.

Parmi mes grosses attentes de début 2008 le P.T Anderson, le film des frères Cohen et plus que tout "La terza madre" d'Argento (sortie probablement direct en dvd italien en février/mars, sauf si tu nous récupères une projection pour ton ciné-club ;-). Quel tristesse de penser qu'un auteur comme Argento soit réduit au DTV.

je n'étais même pas avisée de la sortie du prochain film d'Argento. Cf commentaire sur la note précédente : les auteurs sont condamnés par la distribution de leurs films, proprement scandaleuse. Je ne suis pas en mesure de passer le film à mon ciné-club, faute de moyens. Moi aussi je compose avec une petite économie. J'attends une montée en puissance (plus de spectateurs par exemple) pour pouvoir imaginer d'inviter les auteurs qu'on admire tant les uns comme les autres. Qui sait...
Hâte de voir le prochain Fincher également... L'année 2008 se place en effet sous les meilleurs auspices.

Il va me falloir une deuxième vision pour digérer le Coen, qui est parfait sans suffisance (à un chien en plastique et quelques mariachis près). Quant à PTA, je suis curieux de voir s'il a renoncé à ses troubles obsessionnels compulsifs, lui qui semble se rêver en Cimino après avoir singé Scorsese.
